How much more expensive is sustainable pouches packaging?
This is a nuanced question that is specific to individual scenarios. Our most cost-effective film is our D-38 Recycled LDPE film, which can often be even cheaper than virgin plastic. We recommend chatting with an expert or getting a quote today!
What are the typical lead times for custom pouches?
For custom pouches orders (5,000 MOQ), current lead times are ~35-65 days depending on our production schedule and transit times. Rush options are available.
What are the MOQs for custom projects?
Our current MOQ for customization is 5,000 (10,000 for Pouches). The following features can be customized:
- All-over print on all sides of the packaging
- Sizing and volume
- Thickness and barrier
- Number of adhesives and tear strips
Do you work with distributors?
Yes! If you’re a business/distributor that currently ships over 2,000 packages a month, we have custom & high-volume manufacturing options available for you. What certifications does EcoPackables packaging have?
Our EcoPackables D-films™ and E-laminates™ adhere to the following standards:
EN 13432, ASTM D6400, AS 4736/AS 5810 and TÜV OK Compost Home. Our products are certified by TÜV Austria, Din Certco, ABA for industrial composting, or certified as home compostable by TÜV Austria and ABA.
Our 100% Recycled Plastic Films are GRS 4.0 Certified.
Our 100% Post-Consumer Recycled Paper Films are FSC Certified.
Can my compostable pouch include a clear window?
On compostable pouches with low barrier, we can add a window, but due to the nature of the material, it will have a frosted look and cannot be perfectly clear like reLaminate.
Is the valve and tin tie on the pouches compostable?
The valve is industrially compostable, while the tin tie is not.
Can I store food in custom pouches?
Yes. Our custom pouches can safely store many types of food products. You can choose materials with high-barrier protection to keep items fresh by blocking moisture, oxygen, and light. Recyclable and recycled options are ideal for long shelf life, while compostable options work best for dry food or short-term items.
Should I choose flat pouches or stand-up pouches?
Stand-up pouches are better for products that need to sit upright on shelves, such as snacks, coffee, and dry goods. Flat pouches (like sachets) are ideal for smaller portions, samples, single-use items, or products that don’t need to stand. Both styles can be customized in size, material, and features.
