This is a nuanced question that is specific to individual scenarios. Our most cost-effective film is our D-38 Recycled LDPE film, which can often be even cheaper than virgin plastic. We recommend chatting with an expert or getting a quote today!
What are typical lead times like?
All stock packaging ships same-day from San Diego, California. Domestic shipping is free and carbon-neutral, and takes around 2-5 days depending on shipping destination. International options are available as well.
For custom orders (5,000 MOQ), current lead times are ~35-65 days depending on our production schedule and transit times. Rush options are available.
What are the MOQs for custom projects?
Our current MOQ for customization is 5,000 (10,000 for Pouches). The following features can be customized:

Do you work with distributors?
Yes! If you’re a business/distributor that currently ships over 2,000 packages a month, we have custom & high-volume manufacturing options available for you. Are sustainable personalized mailers as durable as regular plastic mailers?
Yes. Our sustainable mailers are engineered to match the strength and tear resistance of traditional plastic mailers. They're tested for durability, moisture protection, and carrier handling to ensure your products arrive safely.
Can I get a sample of custom mailers before placing a full order?
Yes. We offer sample packs so you can test materials, sizes, and print quality before committing to a larger custom order. This helps you confirm the right fit for your products and brand.
How do I know which size mailer to choose?
Measure your product flat and add 2 to 3 inches to the length and 1 to 2 inches to the width for the seal lip and air space, adding extra for bulky or irregular items. Stock sizes range from 6x10 up to 19x24 for poly mailers, and 9x12 up to 16x20 for compostable clothing bags, with custom sizing available from 1.18x1.97 up to 31.5x39.37. Sample packs are available to test the fit before a bulk order.
What is the difference between recyclable and compostable packaging?
Recyclable packaging, like our GRS certified recycled poly films, is made from reclaimed materials and can be processed again after use through store drop off for thin film plastic or curbside pickup for kraft paper. Compostable packaging is designed to break down entirely in a composting environment rather than being reprocessed. Neither is universally better. The right choice depends on whether your customers have realistic access to composting or recycling infrastructure.
How should my customers dispose of their mailer after use?
Disposal depends on the material. Compostable mailers can go into a home or industrial compost bin. Recycled poly mailers are thin film plastic and should go to a store drop off recycling bin rather than curbside pickup. Kraft paper mailers can be recycled curbside like any other paper product. We recommend printing disposal instructions directly on custom packaging so customers know exactly what to do.
Which mailer is best for shipping apparel or accessories?
Both our compostable and recycled poly mailers are suitable for apparel and accessories, since both are moisture resistant, tear resistant, and tamper proof. If your brand messaging centers on eliminating plastic entirely, a compostable option is a better fit. If you want a lower cost eco upgrade with wider recycling access, recycled poly is a strong choice.
What percentage of recycled content is in your mailers?
Stock recycled poly mailers are made from D38™ film, a blend of 65% post-consumer and 35% pre-consumer waste. Custom recycled poly mailers use GRS 4.0 certified D39™ film, made from a blend of 50 to 75% post-consumer and 25 to 50% post-industrial waste.
How much plastic waste do your recycled mailers actually prevent?
A single order of 10,000 recycled poly mailers prevents about 200 lbs of plastic waste from entering landfill, roughly the weight of a baby grand piano.
How long does it take for compostable mailers to break down?
Compostable mailers break down within about 90 days in a commercial composting facility, or about 180 days in a home compost bin. They do not meaningfully break down in landfill or ocean conditions, since composting requires managed heat, moisture, and microbial activity.
Can I customize the print and colors on my mailer?
Yes. Custom mailers support full-bleed, two-sided printing up to 8 colors using water-based inks, and film colors can be customized to match your chosen Pantone shade.
